The Wimbish House offers an incomparable setting for wedding ceremonies, receptions, and rehearsal dinners. With large, high-ceiling gathering rooms, including the original ballroom, formal dining room, sun porch, spacious parlor/reception area, conference rooms and display areas, The Wimbish House is a versatile venue that’s suitable for virtually any event.

In total, The Wimbish House comprises 13,028 square feet and accommodates up to 250 guests when all the spaces are used together. 

We can accommodate up to 250 for reception only and up to 200 for ceremony and reception.

When doing a ceremony and reception, a room flip is necessary. The ceremony takes place in the ballroom, which can accommodate up to 200 seated theater style (rows of chairs facing the stage). After the ceremony, guests go into the house for a cocktail hour while the caterer "flips" the ballroom. The house can accommodate up to 100 on the first floor/front porch and up to 50 people on the second floor of house. After the room flip, guests use the entire venue simultaneously.

The Main Floor (View Floorplan)

From a gorgeous covered veranda, guests enter the main floor’s grand foyer and circular parlor, an elegant reception area that features dramatic columns,period rugs and seating, lace-curtained windows and French doors, a fireplace and a Steinway grand piano. The main floor also includes a columned oval dining room, wicker-furnished sun porch, several porticos, and other architectural spaces that are ideal as individual serving stations or unique photography settings.

The main floor can seat (at tables) up to 20 people on the covered veranda (outside), and 8-10 people in the dining room.  Furniture (couches, chairs, and benches) throughout the main floor can seat up to 18 people.  Hi boy tables can also be used to provide an additional 20 spaces for food / drinks.  The main floor can accommodate up to 100 people (mixed standing, standing at hi boy tables, seated at tables, and seated on furniture).

The Ballroom

The stately 1920s ballroom features luminous antique chandeliers, polished hardwood dance floors, a grand piano, and a raised stage that is ideal for speakers,officiants, a DJ or band or other entertainment. Capacity is 200 people seated theater style (rows of chairs facing the stage), or 150 people seated at tables with no dance floor.  With a dance floor, the ballroom can accomodate up to 132 for a seated and served dinner (no buffet).  With a dance floor and buffet, the ballroom can seat up to 112 people.  With a dance floor buffet and bar, the ballroom can seat up to 92 people.  Most parties of 150 or less have one bar, located in the sunroom on the main floor of house.  Parties of 150 or more usually have two bars, one in the sunroom and one in the ballroom.

High ceilings, tall arched windows and architectural accents, round tables and gold Chiavari ballroom chairs, and a Mason & Hamlin grand piano create a sparkling,magical mood.

Just off the ballroom is a fully equipped catering kitchen with exterior vendor access via service alley. For seamless set-up, staging and service, all areas are accessible by elevator.

The Second Floor of House

For events that require additional bar or food service areas, breakout meeting rooms, or dressing areas, the second floor offers expansive options.  The second floor is accesible via elevator or the grand staircase.  This space can seat up to 12 people at existing tables, and up to 24 people on the furniture (couches, chairs, and benches) spread throughout the separate rooms. The second floor of the house can accommodate up to 50 people (mixed standing, seated at tables, and seated on furniture).
